JUNIOR EDITOR
Focus on machinery construction / electrical technology
Your tasks:
- You create – initially together with our editors – technical documentation in compliance with legal standards.
- You correct your own texts and those of others according to internal standards.
- You support all sub-steps of this process by your organisation and communications with the customer.
- You deal with terminology during the authoring of the source material and subsequent translation.
- You document the progress of the project and report internally to Scriptor.
Our requirements:
- You have completed an industrial-technical vocational training with subsequent training as a technical writer. Some relevant professional experience is a plus.
- You learn various software programs quickly. You understand technical editing software.
- You are able to recognise technical correlations and describe them precisely.
- You are proficient in Microsoft Word. Knowledge of Schema ST4 is a plus.
- You are confident when talking to customers and enjoy being on-site with customers.
- You work well in a team and can work in a systematic way.

TECHNICAL EDITOR
Focus on machinery construction / automation technology
We offer:
- An unlimited employment contract for max. 32 hours/week.
- Varied tasks working with national and international companies.

Your tasks:
- Create and edit instructions and manuals in compliance with legal regulations and internal standards.
- Author texts in lively, correct German for specific target groups, and prepare them for online/print.
- Write in a style that is modular and easily translated.
- Use the full functionality of Schema ST4 and Microsoft Word.
- You supplement this authoring with your own concept ideas, screenshots and specifications for graphic designers.
- You work occassionally on-site at the customer’s premises (e.g. for training, direct production or review). You don’t shy away from customer contact. You advise the customer, proactively ask questions and implement the project workflow in a goal-oriented manner.
- You test the operation instructions on the product.
- You document the progress of the project and report to both the customer and internally to Scriptor.
Our requirements:
- A degree in mechanical engineering or comparable several years of practical work experience.
- A degree in technical writing (with tekom certificate) or several years of relevant practical work experience or interest in gaining this degree while part-time at Scriptor.
- Experience with Schema ST4 and a willingness to strengthen your ST4 skills.
- You comprehend technical issues well and are able to guide the user through new terrain in clear, understandable sentences.
- Your customer interactions are confident and goal-oriented.
- You work well in a team and can work in an independent, systematic way.
- Very good knowledge of written and spoken English is a plus.
