Screenshots are an important way to describe software. Screenshots for instructions, training courses and quick guides help the user to to focus better. You can give your users a quicker introduction to the software, and help them to find and understand rarely used functions.
The combination of authoring and translation is our speciality. We learn about your software during the authoring process so that we can understand and integrate the screenshots in both the source and target languages. Your software must be sufficiently developed so that we can capture meaningful screenshots. We can capture the screenshots conveniently at your location or ours.
If you expect many translated languages or changes, it may make sense to graphically recreate the screens in Adobe Illustrator or to implement call-outs in SCHEMA ST4. Both methods enable the embedded text to be translated.
Our on-location service for capturing screenshots in the source and target languages takes an enormous burden off your shoulders.
Screenshots at your location
As an on-location service, we go directly to the site where screenshots can be taken at the system or simulator. And if we’re authoring the operating or service manuals, we’re already familiarized with the software. At Scriptor, we determine the file name, trim and graphic size before or during the layout insertion.
Screenshots as input
We will gladly accept your screenshots as our input. We’ll first clarify the specifications to ensure the graphics can be properly implemented. Ask us how we can help.
Reproducing the screens
If the software interface will be translated into many languages, it may be more cost-efficient to reproduce the screens using Adobe Illustrator.
