Take advantage of our experience to create the right templates for your requirements. We design customised templates for your publications that conform with your corporate image – whether it’s for package inserts, instruction manuals, product brochures, catalogues or e-manuals.
Layout-neutral XML modules can be automatically transferred to different layouts by means of layout templates to optimise your reuse. The same modules can be used as output for many different forms, including catalogue, data sheet or manual, promotion or technical document. This enables you to use your texts and illustrations across multiple departments.
A wide range of possibilities opens up with e-publications, which we are happy to support you in designing and authoring.
PLD template
PLD templates for the print documents are designed and implemented in Schema ST4 using the Page Layout Designer (PLD). These templates contain all the required specifications for generating automated publications out of Schema ST4. This includes the specific paragraph formats, type area, cross-references, character formats (fonts, colours, etc.) and all other required information. All these specifications are defined in the PLD template and applied to the modules during the final publication step. A DITA, Word, InDesign or PDF document is then output for you.
OMD template
The expectations for an e-publication layout differ considerably from those of classic print layouts, both technically and from the user’s point of view. Similar to a website, chapters can be navigated and content is not limited to a page length. You can search the publication and read it in a less linear way than printed text. Usability is the key for supporting individual usage situations and preferences. Multiple indices give users theme-based access. Audio, video and animations enable the presentation to be more lively and focused. Applications make it possible for users (e.g. service technicians) to find information quickly and precisely. Multimedia designs such as hot-spot graphics are ideal for displaying complex content in a simple manner. Scriptor designs and implements e-publications in Schema ST4 using the Online Media Designer (OMD).
