As a certified Quanos translation service provider, Scriptor offers you comprehensive SCHEMA ST4 translation support. We use ST4’s intelligent software functionality to help accelerate multilingual projects while saving costs.
By taking advantage of our worldwide network of translators, we provide complete solutions from authoring to publishing in up to 37 languages. The translation software that we use – SDL Studio and Across – are ideally interfaced to SCHEMA ST4. For manuals that are written by Scriptor, you can benefit from our complete service: including authoring, translation, layout recall, and publishing in the format of your choice.
Thus, individual solutions are condensed into a comprehensive overall solution that delivers added value and unbeatable advantages for you.
Translating the terminology
The terminology established during the authoring process is translated into the foreign languages. In Schema ST4, we maintain the multilingual terminology in parallel to the master version. Scriptor trains the translators so that they understand the content, whether or not we have authored the master. This critical training step has a lasting effect. The work put into terminology is a worthy investment that should not be shied away from, because it minimises corrections and improves reusability. We’d be happy to consult with you about this potential.
Migrating foreign languages
Do you have the master publication in SCHEMA ST4, but the target languages only exist in Word or PDF? Are your translations already verified and you want to be sure they are not corrupted during the roll-out? We migrate the foreign languages from Word into SCHEMA ST4 using the same structures as the master/source project. This ensures that the migration is successful and that the foreign languages are immediately available within ST4.
Translating content
As a Quanos-certified translation provider, Scriptor can do everything to get your SCHEMA ST4 content ready for translation. The translation process relies on SDL Trados or Across computer-aided translation software. The advantage of using SCHEMA ST4 for your translation projects is that there is a semi-automated layout for the foreign language publications. This saves you time and money. Other advantages: 100% matches are no longer exported; a status overview for the modules in the various languages is available; and the terminology ensures quality translations. By combining authoring and translation, you benefit from fewer interfaces, accelerated workflows, and reduced costs. When the volume is large enough, a further streamlining stage can implemented through the COTI interfaces (COmmon Translation Interface).
Managing SCHEMA ST4 translations
As a full-service provider, we supervise translation projects involving multiple stages and languages. We take care of terminology and the translations of your manuals and HMI. We ensure that you get the proper data, proper information, the best translators and optimal workflows. We also organise the proofreading with your designated contact persons (e.g. proofreading by your regional representatives or distributors). We publish your foreign language texts using your OMD or PLD template. This is truly the complete service!
