One of our key skills is customising a structural design for your product documentation. We show you which chapters are essential and how to arrange them effectively. We consider your target group and your particular usage situation, as well as the requirements from standards such as IEC 82079.
The structural design and the layout design introduces the reader to the basic product knowledge. For each chapter, we determine the best text/image combinations and optimal content sequences.
The resulting consistent, comprehensible information structure helps the reader become an expert user of your product. Ultimately, a coherent structural design is integral to every standardisation and modularisation in technical documentation.
Target group analysis and usage situation
The target groups and usage situations must be analysed to properly prepare a design. Their contents flow into the design, thus shaping the manuals. The learning and working situation of the users determines the type of publication and the sequence and division of the chapters.
Creating structural designs
Our structural designs focus on our key sectors (medical technology, automation, machinery construction and electrical connectivity); these often involve very extensive and varied product groups. We create our designs mainly for operating or service manuals, but also for quick guides, data sheets, and as print and e-publications.
